The Peace of Restorative Yoga

The Peace of Restorative Yoga

With Anndrea Terry

Saturday, May 11th from 4:30 to 6:00 pm  –  $25, sol member discount applicable

As it is Mother’s Day weekend, Anndrea will be weaving a special peace theme into your practice!

Restorative Yoga is a restful, slow and passive practice that allows the body and mind to enter a deep state of relaxation and peace. This cooling practice is the perfect complement to any movement based yoga practice, as well as the hectic pace of life. It is an investment in deep, nourishing self-care. Using props to support the body in gentle, easeful, floor based positions, Restorative Yoga poses are then luxuriated in for 5 to 15 minutes. All postures are cultivated to bring deep relaxation and release to the body and mind. This is an all-levels class, and each position can and will be tailored to the individual as needed.

Anndrea Terry  began her practice and developed her love of restorative yoga in 2013.  She has been teaching and practicing it ever since. No matter what your practice looks like, no matter your experience, restorative yoga is for everyone. Anndrea often jokes that restorative yoga is somewhat a mix of “nap yoga” meets “gentle massage”.  Anndrea’s career and passion is on cultivating whole-self healing through relaxation. She has been teaching yoga since 2013 and practicing since 2008. Anndrea is a Licensed Professional Counselor, who specializes in wellness. After completing her MA in counseling and postgraduate degree in wellness in 2011, she completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2013. She has continued her training throughout the years including Trauma Conscious Yoga, Yin & Restorative, Vedanta Yoga Nidra and multiple Meditation trainings. Anndrea has also studied extensively in breathwork.

Second Sunday Circle Discussion for this month:

People have been coming together since the beginning of time to share in sacred space – to celebrate, to talk, to laugh, to cry, to create, to support one another in community. Come join in this ancient practice of gathering together to explore the sacred feminine, to honor the Mothers of our lives, the peacemakers, and ask the question how can we lead a life of peace. All are welcome to this gathering.

Together we will share stories, meditate, journal and share in community.  Please bring a pen, journal, photo or item representing peace to you to share on our altar.

This is no human alive today who was not created and held inside the living altar of a woman – Regena Thomashauer
